Internet Tools for the Classroom is, by far, one of my favorite courses I have taken in this program so far! Not only did I have the opportunity to complete a goal I had in life (blogging), but I learned about Web 2.0 tools and how to utilize them within my classroom. Before this course, I did not know anything about Flipgrid, BYOD, Plickers, Kahoot, add on and Extensions, Internet Safety, Global Collaboration Projects (GCPs), and using Twitter as a form of communication with stakeholders. Through this course, I have learned methods and strategies to integrate into my instruction that will support communication, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking.
My two favorite resources that I learned about in this course is Adobe Spark and Screencasts. I enjoyed using Adobe Spark because it gave me another method to present information to my students. I also liked Adobe Spark because it allowed my students to engage in an authentic learning experience as they created stories. Screencasts were interesting to me because it gives teachers several ways to use them such as explaining an assignment to a student who has missed school, explaining how to do a complicated procedure, reviewing materials, hooking students to a lesson. I will be using Screencasts when I began to implement my capstone project to teach them writing skills.
All in all, I have thoroughly enjoyed this course because it has given me the tools I need to improve my teaching practice to help support 21st Century learners. Look out for Blog, Teaching Rock Star!
