This course has impacted my self-conception as a technology coach. According to the Georgia Professional Standards Commission’s Instructional Technology Standards, coaches are supposed to demonstrate continual growth in knowledge and skills of current and emerging technologies and apply them to improve personal productivity and professional practice. This course has given me the opportunity to fulfill my obligation as a continuous learner. Before this course, I thought that blended learning was a type of flipped classroom. After researching numerous of peer-reviewed journals, I know that there are different types of models within blended learning. Studying blended learning and developing my capstone proposal gave me the opportunity to experience this requirement of coaching first hand.
This course has definitely helped me reach my goals towards getting my Ed. S. I now know about the history of technology and current issues and trends within the technology world. This course has also helped me learn about Social Learning Networks and has helped me in becoming more active on Social Media. I am now using Twitter to communicate with other educators, follow issues and trends, get educational resources, participate in graduate coursework, and so much more! This course has also helped me improve my style when it comes to writing research papers. All in all, this course has helped to improve my teaching practice in helping prepare digital age learners.
